When I started out in college... I was doing all the things that would lead me to law school. then I discovered, through writing the feature column in the college newspaper, the power and presige of the mighty inkpen, keyboard, and the media. that is when I changed over to journalism. But, in the media, you will see that many of them cross over into law when they get frustrated with cases like this one. Dinah Tyler, who at least used to be nearly head over the Arkansas prison system used to be a news anchor on Little Rock television. I have learned that many times a lawyer can do all he/she can and still lose a case in the courtroom. They say it is best to keep it all in the family... when sometimes family isn't a good thing when a Dad kills his own child... or to keep it private. Embarassing as it is, though, sometimes a case has to go public to make what is wrong into right. In this case, an innocent man would have been murdered by the state had it not been for the media stepping in. I am glad for it. Even if they didn't get it all right, the profilers aren't going to have it all right either. Nobody really knows the truth here except 3 little boys, God Who was watching, and he who did it. right now, because of the facts, education, and people who took up on what is known, we do know these men in prison are indeed innocent no matter what hate mongers out there say. Who would believe they really don't care because of all the trash out there that lets a killer go free? they are blinded, but like Paul, they will soon see the truth.

The wheels of justice turn so slow.It seems that its not so terrible in this case. The judge , jury, and police were so sure in a number of rape cases and here comes Mr. DNA. to prove they had it all wrong. This is not quite the same but NP's lawyer should have asked Gitchell what his number is now on a scale from zero-eleven.The man seemed to be forthcoming and honest. He said he still believes in WM3's guilt but there's no way his heart would let him repeat 11.

"Q Let me stop you there. How did you
15 get from high school into law enforcement?
16 A At 19 years old -- I was selected and
17 joined the FBI at 19, and I worked for the FBI
18 in Washington D.C. I worked in the
19 identification division, had to do with
20 fingerprints; and that was a stepping stone in
order to later become an agent.
22 And during that time, it was during
23 J. Edgar Hoover's time. So during that time,
24 they had such a program where young high school
graduates could go to work for the FBI. Of
2 course, there was about a year and a half of a
3 background investigation done on myself and my
4 family.
5 And once you pass all that and testing
6 that the FBI would give, you were offered a job,
7 which I was, and flew to Washington D.C., the
8 first airplane I had ever been on in my life, and
9 started working there.
10 And -- but later, of course, J. Edgar
11 Hoover died within about two weeks' time frame.
12 The FBI was in a turmoil. So they pretty much
13 did away with these programs where they allowed
14 you to have training, college, and you still
15 worked with the bureau, the background's been
16 done. So, you were going to slowly progress and
17 become an agent once you obtained your schooling,
18 which they helped you with, and that was their
19 program.
20 Well, when J. Edgar Hoover died, that
21 ceased. So, a lot of us said, "What are we doing
22 sticking around here?" So we left, and at 21,
23 when I was of age, is when I joined the police
24 department"

All this info is shocking to me...it makes sense why Gitchell thinks they did it...he probably has not had a critical thinking course in his life.  The fbi just calls him up, we checked out your family! come learn to fingerprint and you can be a police officer!  Dusty and I wonder what his I.Q is?

Dusty called him the spinal tap quoting mother f@cker! i didnt get it.  then hes like his opinion is like the amp, it goes one more louder!

What you do is keep on working, if he was really hired. Even if the program he was in ceased, he could still get hired on. Maybe it was a program like police often have for "at risk" teen-agers. Because, if he just up and left without seeing into continuing to work for them, it was bs in importance. And, even if they put him in an "at risk" program, that doesn't mean he was fit for the real jobs they had. Not to put down at risk teens, but Arkansas, because of the poverty level, has a lot of them. Doesn't mean they are smart. Mr. Gitchell doesn't appeal to me as a smart man. He wasn't qualified to be a policeman or a detective. Someone, a policeman, repeated what has become popular... police candidates need to have a degree in psychology, sociology, rehab science, criminal justice or something in that area before they are ever considered for candidate school. Too much of their job is taken up by domestic issues not to have something in their background. I dare say most of their job is domestic related over criminal issues.  It isn't a job for a kid... usually a smart-a kid, too, who got the job because of who his Daddy knew or who his Mama slept with.

Somehow, I don't see Gary G. as much of a Tap fan.  If he is, he definitely has no sense of irony.

Wonder if he thinks the case still goes to 'Leven today.   After reading the depo, I'm thinking maybe even his pea-sized brain has downgraded it to a 4 or a 5.
