Judy Sadler

I am going to say something here that might be controversial... if I never said anything controversial before LOL. I truly believe this statement by Judy and I think that she is another TH victim. Maybe he didn't lay a hand on her physically, but he laid a hand on her mentally. He put a burden on her soul to keep a family secret... like many of the same family secrets just like this one but didn't necessarily rise to someone being killed. Judy was the one who kept Stevie going because it was she that he could turn to. He was born abandoned by his father and betrayed by the next one up. Judy is the necessary item when families have bad, dark secrets. She is the place to go when the child gets older and has survived to run away. Many children don't have a person like that. She was the one nearest his age more like a big sister than an aunt.
So why didn't Judy tell a long time ago? Many folks like her keep the secret because it keeps the family together. Did I say that correctly? Well, why not me say it. Judges and lawyers say it. Yes, i have heard a judge tell a little girl that if she wanted to keep her story testified and in the court records that it meant that her step-father would go to prison a long time and that her mother would have to live on welfare. Jury members said the same thing... they saw him smiling at the child and that she smiled back to him. And, they didn't want the find him guilty because it would be on her for breaking the family up. My sister had to sit on that jury and fight people down. So many little girls don't say anything. They are like the little girl who bore her father two children and then he killed them all... all three generations of his family line.
Maybe it takes 16 years to say it. Maybe it takes a deathbed confession. Maybe it takes "hell with it" and a lot of therapy to say what needs to be said. And, it sure does make a good show for Geraldo and the other talk shows. And, it makes a child grow up and walk the streets at night not just making a buck, but trying to make sense of life gone wrong. It makes people talk about why someone is an alcoholic or an addict and it causes a Mom to lose custody of her children and she doesn't understand why. Many a man has let our families down. Many a brother, many a Dad, many an uncle... it isn't just the man on the list who lives too close to an elementary school.
That's what it is for a little girl. For a little boy. Sometimes they never do tell. It isn't manly to have been raped when you were a little boy. It isn't manly to go against a whole religion and speak out about a priest or a boy scout leader. And, then you gotta live and people say some really harsh things that you also have to live with.
And, how about Mom. Many times when a woman has been molested or worse in her life, she will seek out a man like TH. My own sister seeked out 5 of them. I sort of think that it is like going up to the bad guy and saying, "don't hurt me anymore, here, I will just hand myself over to you." They are the kind of women, when they are beaten by the same husband will stand and take it and they don't fight back. They don't say anything, they do what it takes to keep the peace. In many serial killer studies, the perp was living with or married to women who had children either belonging to the perp or not. They get by with attacking children longer that way because they look like they wouldn't be the suspect. But, you have to listen to what the children say. Sometimes Mom just can't do it. They can't face that they found another man who went after the children. MANY families WHERE A BOYFRIEND OR HUSBAND killed everyone or just a child had a Mom who knew it was going to happen someday but just didn't want to think it would. It is in our paper every single day. They do fight back, like Pam did, when the beatings go too far. But, it all gets better. Because women are nurturers and they will take a victim in just like he was a lost puppy. And TH is a professional victim if ever anyone was.
I don't blame Pam. She needs a lot of people to befriend her. She has a lot more to tell. And, so does Judy. Stevie needs them to tell it until they have no more words left to say. Free the WM6 and all the real victims of this horrible crime.
