Want to stop Burnett and Fogleman?
Posted by Mara on Tuesday March 16, 2010

As many of you know, Judge David Burnett and Judge John Fogleman are now candidates for elective office. Burnett’s running for the Arkansas Senate. Fogleman is hoping for a seat on the state supreme court.

A few of you have asked me what you can do to keep these two key players in the travesty of the West Memphis case from attaining higher office. Some of you are already creating Youtube videos, calling people you know in Arkansas, and using Facebook and other media to explain and spread your objections.

Here’s another obvious idea. Both men have opponents who would welcome your help.

Barry Harrison of Blytheville, Arkansas, is running against Burnett. Here’s his page on Facebook.

Judge Courtney Henry is opposing Fogleman. Here’s a link to her site.

You’ve already written thousands of letters to Arkansas’s leaders. They haven’t seemed to notice. Maybe they’ll get the message if we send it at the polls.

I just got through reading up on Judge Henry. It is interesting that her home church in Little Rock is Pulaski Heights United Methodist. So. I am betting here that she already knows Rev. Vic Nixon.
You know. It is late so I am going to be off to bed. I was listening to one of our Arkansas local young men who is a song writer and singing talent. He kind of reminded me of those thought provoking singers of the 60's and 70's. Maybe what we need here is a song... Damien's Song... kind of a piece of folk art that someone like Taylor Swift would sing... or something in the country genre. A lot of Arkansas is country music oriented. Maybe a cross-over song. Something that the young generation would catch onto.
I write poetry sometimes, but I have never really tried myself at a song. i think someone on here could do it. We all have gotten on here morning and night and lamented our honest feelings... I think we have a start on it. If it could be popular, it would be a real good thing.
