  • Me too!  Tried to get into latemightitis last night in preparation.  Cannot see which channel is covering it here in UK.  If that 'Entertainment' channel then it might only be all from the red carpet and rather tedious fan stuff!  Hopefully news channels will have it . . . .

I would imagine that the Documentary category will be fairly early with best film / actor / actress as the 'headliners'.  Hopefully Jason will be able to go with Bruce and Joe.

  • i read on some of those oscar "insider" pages that PL3 is not a too hot candidate for best documentary... we'll see.

who saw any of the other nominated documentaries?

  • It would be great if they did win however, just being nominated garnered a lot more attention.  I am not holding my breath.

  • frankly, if PL3 should not win... then joe and bruce should have thought about blurring graphic content in certain scenes. i guess everybody agrees with that.

i dont know if the academy tolerates the handling of these scenes, which are, IMO, PL2-niveau, at best, and it's not good at all.

  • I'll be watching, too.  I even plan to watch some of the "red carpet" stuff in the hope that somebody from the case might show up.  The buzz that I've heard is that it has a good chance to win.  I haven't seen any of the other documentaries, though.

  • didnt make it...

but robert downey jr's "documentary" style presenting was hilarious:-)

i was surpsrised at how quick it was going on... opening billy crystal, then hanks with the first category. or was this always like that.. i remember the whole show was more "squiggled" and long-winded in the past (well ok they flew in cirque du soleil this time). 2011, i had to switch off somewhere at the beginning (what a crappy host couple that was). steve martin and alec baldwin, from 2010 i guess.. those were good.

  • It was nice to see that HBO had not one but two docs nominated, and, when Saving Face won, I was happy to hear HBO's fabulous Sheila Nevins mentioned. I know we will never lose our appreciation for the fact that HBO is the reason Damien is alive and he and Jason and Jessie are now free.

It's inspiring to realize the impact HBO has had on delivering the force of documentary filmmaking to living rooms around the globe, energizing activists in every corner of the world.

You can see Saving Grace on HBO next week:

Stone, Chuck Norris and the global reach of his film work was in the news today too:

It's just Chuck standing in Bratislava with his erect penis going over to Schlosshof while cars drive on it.  If he gets tired of the scenery, and loses his erection, many innocents will die...
